The first VW I can ever remember being driven in was back in '77 on a trip to visit Manchester Airport (U.K) I can still remember it was two tone, white on top and orange on the bottom, then some years later I laid eyes on the amazing MK 1 Golf Gti Campaign (in Metallic Silver) which my friend bought, so I have had the VW 'Bug' (Pun Intended) for about 3 decades now, and the VW illness is not showing any signs of weakening

1990 Corrado 1.8 G60

Let me begin that before i buy the 'Tornado 'Rado' i really wasn't really into the VW thing (more like BMW's). So, when i got my drivers licence, my dad offered to buy me a brand new car (btw he was racing a Fiat 500-bored to 800cc i think- in Italy as a student and knew that 'old' cars were 'trouble'). I refused his offer 'cause i always liked old cars and found a BMW E30 3.25i in blue colour (4door), decided to buy it, and as i was going to the bank to get the guy the deposit, there it was - A 1990 Tornado red 1.8 16V '90 model Corrado, just sitting there, feeling sorry for itself, waiting for someone to buy it. I was stunned with the car, not very familiar with VW's back then (only seen a Corrado 1 time before). It wasn't cheap thought (today i'll probalby could get it for less) but it's the car i love and would NEVER change. My actual goal for it is to buy a second daily driver and leave the C as a hobby car-a lot of money invested for daily use (unfortunately now i have to use it as a daily driver for a least 6 days of week). Cheers Corrado-freaks

The first Corrado I ever sat in was a friend of a friends red G60 in black leather, and that thing was brand new, just done delivery miles, the leather smelt amazing, that was in '91 '92, and I promised myself that one day I would get myself a Corrado G60, but I am more than happy with acquiring the VR6 Corrado I bought back in '03.

Blimey Wish bet that wont be cheap. You get what you pay for at the end of the day i suppose. I keep toying with the idea of selling mine and getting an immaculate green storm ( i love cream leather) but i just cant part with my beloved C.

I got the VW bug when I had the chance to buy a 1955 karmman ghia when I was 18. My best friend drove a custom 1970 and I loved it. I, however, couldn't come up with the cash and she was gone when I did. The selling price was $500. US - this was back in 1984. It was all original and it had always been garaged so it was truly in mint condition. An older lady was selling it as she could no longer drive it. She had no idea of it's value as a collectible. I am not sure I even had a clue how much she was really worth.

I never got over missing out on the car of a lifetime. So, I haven't missed on any that I have really wanted since.
